English-speaking therapy for people in Riyadh

The contract is good, the compound is comfortable, and you have not said one true sentence about how you are to anyone in months. I offer online individual and couples therapy in English for people in Riyadh, subject to checking location requirements and whether this service fits your needs.

English-speaking therapist in Riyadh: a man sits alone on a bench at dusk looking at a red phone
The ten minutes alone before going back inside.

What is happening outside work?

You might spend the day making decisions for other people, then sit alone for ten minutes before you go back inside. You might be here on your own while your family is at home, and the evening call has become a list of what needs paying. Or you might have a full compound social life and nobody in it you would tell the truth to.

These experiences are not unique to Riyadh, and they do not describe everyone who lives there. What matters is how your circumstances affect you. Therapy focuses on what you bring: anxiety, anger which arrives faster than it used to, loneliness, a marriage under strain, or the decision about whether to stay for another contract.

I am here alone and my family is at home.

Split arrangements work for the bank balance and cost something else. We look at what the distance is doing to you, to the marriage and to the children, and at what the evening call has turned into. If you are counting the weeks to the next flight, say so.

My residency, and my family’s, depends on my job.

When the iqama, the housing and the school fees all sit on one contract, worry has somewhere to live. We work with the emotional weight of it. Your actual employment and immigration options need qualified advice.

I get angry faster than I used to.

Heat, long hours, driving everywhere and a life with few private outlets shorten a fuse. We look at what happens in the seconds before you snap, and at what you are not saying the rest of the time.

I would rather not be seen walking into a clinic.

You do not have to. Sessions are online, from a private room you choose, with a UK-based therapist outside your professional circle. We agree confidentiality and its limits before starting.

Online couples therapy for people in Riyadh

Riyadh runs on the car and the calendar. A couple with different working weeks, or one partner working and one waiting for a driving licence and a life, ends up with little unstructured time together. Time alone does not explain every argument. We need to understand what happens in the time you do have: who raises a concern, how it is heard, what each person does next and whether anything changes afterwards.

In couples work, I ask you to slow down one recent disagreement. We hear what each person was trying to say, identify the behaviour which made it harder, and practise a clearer response. We also look at whether the practical arrangements, including who gets to leave the compound and when, are reasonable for both of you.

If betrayal, separation or a difficult decision is the reason you are looking, say so at the consultation. Explore couples therapy, support after an affair or support for a partner who relocated. If the sentence in your house is “I love you but I am not in love with you”, there is a page for it too.

Working with Kita

I am Kita Tabachka, a Bulgarian-born, UK-based BACP-registered relational therapist. My work includes individuals and couples living abroad, and a good share of men who have never spoken to a therapist before. Read about my approach and check my BACP directory profile.

We start with a free 15–20 minute consultation. You tell me what brings you, ask questions and decide whether you would like to continue. We discuss your needs, the country you will attend from, privacy and available appointments before agreeing to work together.

For couples work, both partners attend the consultation. If we begin, I usually meet each of you individually to understand your background before joint sessions. We agree the purpose, fees and confidentiality arrangements for those meetings first.

Individual therapy: £70 for 50 minutes.
Couples therapy: £100 for 70 minutes, per couple.

Sessions are online through Carepatron. Fees are charged in British pounds (GBP). Read the fees and process.

What to check before booking from Riyadh

I work online from the UK. I do not have a clinic in Saudi Arabia. Before accepting an appointment, I check your location, professional arrangements and whether this service fits your needs. Tell me before travelling or moving country so we review whether the work continues. Read how therapy across borders is assessed.

You need a private place to speak, a suitable device and a reliable connection. If the only private room you have is the car, we talk about whether it works. We agree confidentiality and its limits before starting.

BACP registration describes my UK professional registration. It is not a claim of Saudi professional registration. The consultation establishes whether working together is possible and appropriate before paid therapy is arranged.

Riyadh is two hours ahead of the UK in summer and three in winter. My working week is Monday to Friday, UK time. Your Sunday is a working day for you and not one for me, so most appointments fall Monday to Thursday, in your late afternoon or evening. We confirm times in your local time.

An option when writing suits you better

Written counselling costs £50 per week for one personal reply from me through Carepatron, on an agreed day. It suits someone who wants time to put their thoughts into words, or who has no reliable private hour in the week. We first agree suitability, message arrangements and location requirements. It is not an immediate-response service.

Questions people in Riyadh ask

Are you based in Riyadh?

No. I am a UK-based therapist offering online appointments. I do not have a clinic in Saudi Arabia or claim Saudi professional registration. We check the professional arrangements and suitability before agreeing to work together.

Is online therapy from the UK confidential if I live in Riyadh?

Sessions run through Carepatron, a secure practice platform, from a private space you choose. I am outside your employer and your social circle. We agree confidentiality and its limits in writing before starting, and we discuss any device or household concerns first.

My wife and children are in the UK. Do couples sessions work from two countries?

Often, yes. Both locations, privacy arrangements and time zones need to be checked before we begin. Please tell me if either partner will travel during the work.

How much are appointments?

Individual sessions cost £70 for 50 minutes. Couples sessions cost £100 for 70 minutes per couple. The introductory consultation is free and lasts 15–20 minutes.

What times are available for Riyadh?

Riyadh is two to three hours ahead of the UK depending on the season. Most appointments fall Monday to Thursday in your late afternoon or evening. We confirm current options in your local time rather than promise a particular slot.

Do you help with anger or stress rather than a relationship?

Yes. Many men contact me about a shorter fuse, poor sleep, or a flatness they cannot explain. We discuss your needs and whether my service is appropriate.
