When being capable becomes the only version of you people see
Your days may be full of decisions, messages and conversations across time zones. By the time you have space to notice yourself, you feel restless, flat or too tired to explain. Success at work does not tell us whether the rest of your life feels manageable.
In Hong Kong, you may be working locally while keeping close ties with family or a partner in Europe. The time difference can mean you are ready for a personal conversation just as someone else starts work. Frustration can build even when neither person is doing anything wrong.
We can explore what happens when you stop working: whether you can rest, who you can be honest with and how much of your worth has become tied to being useful. This is not an assumption about your city or profession. It is an invitation to talk about your own week.
What would you like help with?
I feel anxious whenever I am not doing something
We can look at the thoughts that arrive when the day slows down and the ways you try to quiet them. Practical workload and expectations deserve attention alongside your emotional responses.
People know my job, but not much about me
A full professional network may not provide the closeness you miss. We can explore what makes personal connection difficult and whether there is room for relationships outside your work role.
My partner gets whatever energy is left
We can look at how you reconnect after work, how requests for attention are received and what each person needs from time together. Couples sessions give both experiences space.
Finding an appointment that fits Hong Kong time
Hong Kong is seven hours ahead of the UK during British Summer Time and eight hours ahead during UK winter time. UK morning appointments therefore fall in the Hong Kong afternoon or early evening. The conversion changes when the UK clocks change, even though Hong Kong's clocks stay the same.
For example, 10:00 in the UK is 17:00 in Hong Kong during British Summer Time and 18:00 during UK winter time. This explains the timing only; it is not an offer of a particular slot. We confirm actual availability and your local time before booking.
A private room matters as much as the time. If you share a home, we can discuss whether you can speak without being overheard. If a regular private hour is difficult, you can ask about written counselling, subject to suitability.
An English-speaking therapist, online from the UK
I am Kita Tabachka, a Bulgarian-born, UK-based relational therapist. I work with individuals and couples, including people living abroad. You can read about my approach and check my BACP registration.
Individual therapy: £70 for 50 minutes.
Couples therapy: £100 per couple for 70 minutes.
Appointments take place online through Carepatron. Fees are charged in British pounds. The first consultation is free and lasts 15–20 minutes. Read the fees and starting process.
I work Monday to Friday, UK time. Please suggest times in Hong Kong time and say if you or your partner will be travelling. For couples in different countries, we check both locations and find an overlap before agreeing appointments.
I do not have a clinic in Hong Kong. BACP registration is my UK professional registration, not a claim of local registration in Hong Kong. Before paid therapy is agreed, I check your physical location, relevant professional and insurance arrangements, privacy and whether this service fits your needs. Read about online therapy across borders.
For couples, both partners attend the consultation. Individual background meetings usually follow before joint sessions, with their purpose, fees and confidentiality arrangements agreed first. If you need immediate help or cannot stay safe, contact local emergency or crisis services; this practice is not an emergency service.
